Fishing for Litter Scotland
Learn more about the latest phase of our pioneering project
Fishing for Litter Scotland 2011 - 2014 was officially launched on May 27th 2011 with the addition of a new harbour, The Isle of Whithorn.
Through the participation of local fishermen, this project is designed to recover marine litter whilst raising awareness for the significant detrimental impact such waste can have on the marine environment. Over 170 boats and 17 harbours participate in the Scottish initiative. This project is co-ordinated by KIMO, an international association of Local authorities, which campaign on marine pollution issues that affect coastal communities.
